Elite Pathway in Football
The programme is a 3 tier programme where players can be scouted by coaches or scouts, through after school clubs, lunch time clubs, soccer schools, in school coaching or any other community events. Scouts can also scout players at local football team games.
The programme is designed to develop players who maybe are not ready for academy but show aspects of their game that are good. The aim is to improve all players and try to push players up the pyramid when they are ready.
To do this the coaches work to a syllabus which has a link in to the academy syllabus so that the players have an idea of what the academy players are working towards.
Also at the end of each term of training the players receive feedback from their coach which again follows the same guidelines of the academy feedback philosophy.
The players also have the opportunity to play games during school holidays to help them show what they can do.
During these game days the players are also tested using speed gate equipment the same level of equipment that academy use.
These centres are for children who will excel at the Advanced Centres or who have been scouted from their club teams. They are the stepping block into the Academy – and Academy staff will take the coaching sessions. All the centres are for boys aged between five and sixteen. After school clubs are for junior schools between the age five and eleven and soccer schools are aimed at boys and girls between the ages of six and fourteen. Girls only advanced and development centres are also available.
