Intro Into Sport is a sports based course for young people aged 16 – 18 who are interested in a career in coaching.
About Intro Into Sport
If you are aged between 16 – 18 years old and interested in gaining a coaching qualification then ‘Intro Into Sport’ is the perfect course for you.
Reading FC Community Trust have teamed up with Reading College to launch the ‘Intro Into Sport’ course.
This is an excellent opportunity for young people to gain qualifications and work with experienced coaches within professional facilities. ‘Intro Into Sport’ also focuses on employability and personal development which will support participants that want to get back into employment or further education. Reading FC Community Trust also provide exit routes after the course completition such as work experience and volunteering opportunities.
The course is delivered over 20 weeks and participants can gain the following qualifications
- JFL Level 1
- ABA Boxercise Level 1
- FA Level 1
- Functional Skills (Maths , English , ICT)
- Participants will also gain a free gym access and travel money for 3 days

These are the only official courses run by Reading FC. Other courses may not meet our standards The Community Trust Charity is a non-profit making grassroots organisation. Any surplus money made from the courses is redirected into the operation and expansion of the scheme. Our coaching staff are all FA-qualified, hold a valid FA First Aid Certificate, have been police checked, and have attended an FA Child Protection Workshop and RFC Community Trust staff training programmes to ensure they are aware of new developments in football coaching. Essential! . WE DO NOT send out confirmation – so please make a note of dates – times etc Terms & Conditions Places are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment. Cancellations carry a £5 administration fee. No refunds will be given. Credit notes may be issued on receipt of a written request. We do not accept responsibility for loss or damage to property. Children attending the courses should not be left unsupervised at the venue until 10 minutes before & after the course starts and ends.
