Liam Thorne

Head Officer For Activities Programme
Started with the Community Trust six years ago, as a casual coach within the Community Programme. Has delivered sessions in many of the local areas, including After School Clubs/Lunchtime Clubs, Soccer Schools and the Elite and Advanced Centres.

Working for Reading FC for 3 years, Liam organises and coaches on all aspects of our Sports Participation area.

FA Level 1 Qualified, FA Level 2 Qualified, UEFA ‘B’ Licence Qualified, FA Module 1,2 and 3 Qualified, Safe Guarding and FA Emergency Aid Qualified.

Activities Programme Officer

Leigh joined the Community Trust in 2013 as part time coach for both outfield and goalkeepers, coaching children at schools and training centres across Berkshire, Hampshire and Oxford before joining the Trust full time in 2015.

Leigh’s passion for football coaching developed when he was asked to help out after his son joined their local community football club and was required to undertake the FA Level 1 Coaching course. The course and response from the children fuelled his desire to learn and coach and he now holds several qualifications including FA Level 2, FA Level 2 Goalkeeping, FA Youth Modules 1, 2 & 3, FA Futsal Level 1, FA Level 1 Coaching Disabled Footballers and completed the 1st 4 Sport Level 2 in Multisport.




Chris Knott

Chris Knott

Activities Programme Officer 
Chris began working with the Community Trust in 2012 as a football and goalkeeping coach before becoming Activities Officer in 2015.
Chris studied Sport Coaching and Development at Winchester University and has a wide range of qualifications including Level 2 in football, Level 2 Goalkeeping, Level 2 Multi-skills and is currently undertaking his UEFA B Goalkeeping.
Chris has a passion for working with children and ensuring that every child has the opportunity to experience and enjoy sport and develop their skills and confidence. He has over 8 years’ experience in teaching and school sport.
Other Qualifications include Team-Teach Training, Level 3 in Delivery of Physical Education and School Sport, Tennis Teacher training, Level 1 Basketball, Level 1 Swimming, Coaching the whole child: Positive development through sport and CTC ride manager.




Daniel Rook

Disability Officer

Daniel joined the club in July 2013 in the role of My Ability Programme Manager in this role Daniel over sees the trusts disability programme.

Daniel comes with experience of working with disability having spent 10 years working in various roles within disability sport in Essex.

Daniel holds a NVQ level 4 in Management alongside FA level 1&2 and FA youth Modules 1&2 and is also Safe Guarding and FA Emergency Aid Qualified.


Craig Peters

Assistant Disability Officer

Craig began working with the Community Trust in 2013 as a part-time coach, delivering football sessions across the Activities programme and gained experience coaching on the MyAbility Programme before becoming the Assistant Disability Officer in 2014.

In 2015, started managing the Reading Deaf Team.

Craig has a passion for football coaching, after playing at a local grassroots club and has a desire making a positive difference giving people the opportunity to become more active in sport.

Craig studied Sport Management at Bournemouth University and has a wide range of qualifications including: FA Level 1 & 2 Qualified – FA Module 1 & 2 – FA Safeguarding – FA Emergency Aid – FA Coaching Disabled Footballers – British Sign Language Level 1 – Level 3 Supporting Delivery of Physical Education & School Sports – Level 2 Multi-Sports.



Georgia Graham

Girls Programme officer
Georgia began working with the community trust in 2012 as an apprentice coach before giving assistance to the activities programme. Georgia took the role of Girls programme officer in 2014.
Georgia has a desire to develop the girls programme and give every girl the opportunity to experience and enjoy football in the best environment.
Georgia’s qualifications include FA Level 2 Football, Level 2 Multi-skills and Level 1 Coaching disabled footballers.

Paddy Carey

Boys Elite Programme Coach

Paddy Carey is a UEFA A license holder and football studies student from IT Carlow Ireland. Paddy has a vast amount of experience in coaching from grassroots level to academy level, where his current role sees him coach with the Reading Academy u15 full time and also with the u15 and u16 hybrid programme. Paddy combines his role at the academy with the Head Coach role at the JMA which offers full time football and education as a package to young scholars.

Richard Witt

Social Inclusion Manager
Richard has been working for the Reading FC Community trust for over 10 years and started out as a youth player for Reading FC, before playing for various other professional clubs across the country. He also represented the England Non-League side. Richard became a full time coach for Reading Community Trust and the Social Inclusion Officer, delivering projects such as Sportive8 and the Kickz Programme for young people, which became extremely successful through the guidance of Richard and Gary Webb. Richard is now the Social Inclusion Manager for the Community Trust – managing and running over 15 provisions for young people and reaching out to over 300 youngster a week across Reading.

Community Cohesion Sport Development Officer
Started with the Community Trust as the Princes Trust Team leader working with 16-25 year olds, then became the Community Cohesion Officer for Reading FC, helping to bring communities together by developing young people and children in areas of need in the town.




Mark Edwards

Social Inclusion Officer
Mark has worked with young people for over 9 years in projects around social inclusion for in the local area of Reading; starting music projects, personal training as well as managing a local basketball team for 6 years. Mark joined our team Community Trust just under a year ago as our full time Social Inclusion Officer delivering the Sportiv8 programme, Kickz programmes and in school and referral schools sport programmes.




Paul Brown

Social Inclusion Officer
Works on delivering free football sessions, known as ‘Kickz’, in Wokingham. Paul Brown is part of the Social Inclusion Team – supporting many projects around Social Inclusion for young people between 11 and 19 years of age.

Princes Trust Team Leader
Started out working in the Community Trust part time as a Community Coach in the Elite and Advanced Development Centres and is now working full time as our Prince’s Trust Team Leader for the team programme, working with 16-25 year olds.
